Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards for Laboratories, 4th Edition also includes a crosswalk to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189 Medical Laboratories—Requirements for Quality and Competence. JCI standards that were identified as equivalent in the ISO 15189 Technical Requirements list common quality control and process standards.
This manual also includes an introduction that serves as a user’s guide, a summary of JCI’s accreditation policies and procedures, a comprehensive glossary of key terms, and a detailed index. All standards and policies contained in this manual are effective 1 January 2022.
